Beer + pizza = genius
Monterey Café (Reviewed 9/08)
Spokane offers pizza lovers a wealth of choices, the latest being the Monterey Café downtown. In addition to pitas, sandwiches and bottled beers, they offer a variety of specialty pizzas, including the Average Joe (pepperoni, olives and shrooms, $17), the Tree Hugger (tomatoes, shrooms, olives, onions, green pepper and roasted red pepper with feta and Parmesean, $19) and the Meathead (pulled pork, pepperoni, sausage, Canadian bacon, good old regular bacon and extra cheese, $23). We tried the T-Rex, a scrumptious pie with white sauce, garlic, chicken, bacon and Parmesan cheese ($19). Turns out it’s an excellent choice for lingering over a couple of beers while people-watching from the sidewalk patio. Monterey Café, 9 N. They even provide honey for the crust, you have to love this place.
