Lip-smackin' good!

Lip-smackin' good!

Smacky’s (Reviewed 11/08)
At Smacky’s, the delicious, mouthwatering smell of bacon wafts past the deli case and meets me at the door. Thirty seconds inside and I’ve settled on half my lunch order: The bargain soup-and-sandwich lunch ($5.75). They’re even willing to substitute sourdough for the usual toasted hoagie roll on my grilled turkey, cheddar and bacon sandwich. When it comes, it does not disappoint: the soup is thick, filling and flavorful, with a subtle burn, rather than an all-out spice heat. My sandwich shows up just as I’m scraping the bottom of the bowl. My companion enjoys his hoagie, as well, with its generous portion of roast beef, provolone, pepperoncini, tomatoes and red onions. Our only complaint? The food was so good lunch was over before we knew it. Smacky’s, 6615 E. Broadway; 509.535.4230; Mon.-Fri., 7 a.m.-3 p.m. $

  1. Tuna melt on panini, yum! And tea is Two Leaves and a Bud, very nice!
